A resounding scream from networkers marketers across the world. Except for those who you see receiving awards at your conferences banquets for most leads acquired in 2 months or most sales or most [put your own story here]. What in the world do they know that I don’t? I made the list that they told me too, I called all my family and friends. I even pitched my family at a funeral. No way he/she worked harder than me. So why do I miss the success barrel and it just seems to land on him/her? This business SUCKS!!!! I’m getting out and focusing on my job, I’m top dog there the boss likes me and the females there see me as someone important. Yeah, I got it all figured out. Or do you?
Ok the first paragraph may have been a little sensationalised but how many of you ask that same question? Your reading the self-help books, trying to stay positive (law of attraction baby) yada yada. But nothing is happening. You pitch, you cold call, you walk up to strangers but the bank account stays the same. What is missing? Well coming from a software background I have learnt along time that:
- What you can do or intend to do someone has already done it and packaged it into a “library” in which you can reuse. This lowers development time and cost.
- The only constant in this world is Change. Nothing ever, ever, ever stays the same. So why should you continue to use legacy tactics to succeed at emerging arenas. Why bring a spear to a gun fight (*hides from lurking spartans*).
The HOW is so important in this area that people spend years and thousands of dollars researching ways in which to perfect the HOW. The HOW is a whole beast in itself but it must not be ignored because the difference between you and that person on stage receiving the awards, is the HOW.
